Hi Assalamualaikum everyone. Since right now i have to do assignment which is i have to documented my reflective writing for animal physiology (SBF 3033) subject in my blog. So my lecture will evaluate my reflective to give the mark. So.. Hi Dr Shakira!! Hi Dr Liyana!! welcome to my blog.. hihihi. a little bit awkward because i have to write english for my own blog. Hahaha
This is my beloved animal physiology classmate
Ok, lets i start with the first day my friend and i entered the class. We make a lecture session with lectures and friends. During the first day of the class, I was given a perfomar for us to know what kind of assignment we needed for this whole semester. This is especially important for us to prepare for the mandatory assignment we prepare. Also we know how to use padlet. Padlet was an application to create an online bulletin board that you can use to display information for any topic. Easily create an account and build a new board. You can add images, links, videos, and more.
You know what, the biggest mistake in my life was i'm not taking any picture during classroom activity. And the picture inside my phone was deleted because memory full. So only a few picture that i can show you guys..
For lab experiment, we actually have 7 lab session that we have to do. The first lab was REFLEXES FUNCTION IN NERVOUS SYSTEM. This lab was interesting. From this lab, I had learned that there several types of human reflexes and its function at certain levels in our body which is in nervous system. The best part was when i have to knock my knee with hammer. So the reflection was fun. During the lab session being conducted, our group members have differences kind of response from several types of reflex. The second lab was SENSITIVITY OF SENSORY SYSTEM BY DIFFERENT PERSON. This experiment tough us about the sensory system that consists of sensory neurons which carry information from the sense organs to the brain, neural pathways that contain a series of connected nerves along which electrical impulses travel in the body, and parts of the brain that involved in sensory perception. The activities for this lab was very good to. The third lab was IN VITRO DEMONSTRATION OF SKELETAL MUSCLE CONTRACTION. This lab activities was tough us about being a patience. hahahaha. Because we have to shred the muscle tissue by single cell. Its so hard to make that happen. Then we have to draw the the muscle after we observe on microscope. For lab 4 and lab 5. We do once in a same day. The lab was very complicated to do because it involve calculation but easy to handle.
Diba used stethoscope to check Najib breath
In lab 6 we have new experience. We experimenting frog!!!! Omg.. that was so fun. even im so afraid with frog but after take a long time. Then i had no scared with the frog. This experiment is actually to study the effect of certain vasoactive agent on the microcirculation in the hind foot web. Various reactions of the layer occur when we drop difference solution onto the hind foot web. Most vessels of the microcirculation are lined by flattened cells of the endothelium and many of them are surrounded by contractile cells called pericytes.
Dont worry, the frog still alive. We fainted her.
And the lastly was lab 8. OSMOTIC TOLERENCE IN BRINE SHRIMPS. This lab we studies a small shrimp. Very very very smallllllllllll shrimp called Artemia. We study the survival of that shrimp in the different percent of salinity.
Problem based learning
Last month ago if i not mistaken, Dr Shakirah has given us an assignment of activities to form 4 groups. This activity was called problem base learning or PBL. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) was a teaching method in which complex real-world problems are used as the vehicle to promote student learning of concepts and principles as opposed to direct presentation of facts and concepts. In this PBL, we were given the problem.
The problem was the result of conversation from wafi, sara and tina to help the student of the deaf and blind. Not only that, the problem of ice drug knowledged also needs to be resolved. Also, the PBL have saveral phases like forming groups, understanding problem and so on. In this PBL, we have been discussing ways to solve problems faced by wafi. Wafi's problem was that he wants to help his blind student to play musical instruments. Therefore, we as animal physiology students need to help the wafi from the learning point we have taken. For solving this problem, we have been discussed in groups. Each member has its own role. I serve as a keeper. Others are chief, time keeper and technical. We are very grateful to our lecturers for helping us solve the problem. We plan to use Braill as an initiative for blind people to play musical instruments. However, our lecturers disagree with our proposals. So, we have proposed to use the concept of animal physiology to inform the wafi for wafi to solve the problem. We suggest, when using brail, touch receptor sense information to neoron in the Centra nerves systom then go to brain. So, brain can detect. That why blind people can remember the music. The last thing was our presentation. In briefly we can deliver the message well. There are just a few mistakes like we should not emphasize the brail concept to wafi.
On the contrary, the concept of animal physiology needs to be developed such as hearing, taste and touch and others. So far, for PBL we got mostly learning outcome. Our group has cooperated and responded well throughout the PBL. Thank you for our lecturer Dr. Shakirah over our help and facilitator throughout the PBL took place. In my opinion, the lecturers have encouraged us to make sure we have the correct solution. The question she's giving us was the inspiration for us to always look for ideas and solve problems very well. For me, this problem-based learning can help me to improve my knowledge and skills for my future and to become a successful teacher one day.
In week seven, Dr shakirah will be the last day for teaching us the animal p[hysiology subjects. I dont know why must change the lecture? but its okey. Then come Dr Liyana replaced lecture from Dr Shakirah. During classroom activity with Dr Liyana, she give us task to make a drama about lympocyte B. So thr drama gives us the imaginary on how lympocyte going work. Its so fun to do. I'm the director of the drama. hihihihih. Destroyed! hahaha. But its ok. That was my new experience to handle people in drama in class in 15 minutes.
Paula being a microphage.
So during class time, we were going a trip to carnival IMR. IMR was Institute for Medical Research Malaysia in KL. So we went there to saw a very big industries about medical in Malaysia. We know about disease in Malaysia, we know about aids, denggi, eptospirosis and more. This aware us about all medical issue in Malaysia. Thank you Dr Shakira take us to IMR. Thats was so fun and give benefits for us for the future teacher.
This experience taught us not only the physiology of such a massive animal, but also the daily life, history, problems, and the expectations of their future, too. I believe it was a great experience for everyone to get an up-close-and-personal understanding of elephants at an institution that knows their struggles best. The staff were very knowledgeable and seemed to care about their duties at the sanctuary, which is something of a requirement when taking care of an endangered creatures with little resources.
The biggest elephant in this center.
Caring for such large animals comes large responsibilities and tough duties, which were handled professionally with respect to the elephant. One gripe that I had, even though I realize that the tourists buying fruits and such for the animals gives sustenance and funds, seeing young children offering food and then taking it away from the elephant as it reached for it was disheartening. My only wish is that they had more financial support from the government to expand and allow for the discontinuation of the shows for tourists, or tourists altogether, unless proper rules are put in place. Elephants should be revered and respected, not played with or seen as entertainment, as this fuels the negative aspects that plague their situation around the world.
Spot me everyone?? haha
So i made a vlog gaisss...dont forget to subscribes...hahaha
